Who should you call for help?

Living in Texas, you should have an experienced roofing contractor who offers emergency service in your contacts and ready to call in the event of storm damage. Look for a well-established roofing contractor with a good reputation.

In a roofing emergency, your contractor should tarp the damaged area to secure the roof. They can then properly assess the extent of the storm damage and recommend repairs. This will help if and when you make an insurance claim.

What to do until help arrives?

Do not get on the roof yourself and check for damage during a severe storm. If there is a sizable hole with water pouring through, you should turn off the main electrical supply switch. Move any personal items and furniture that is getting wet and put out containers to contain the water. If there are any items that cannot be moved, you should cover them to keep them dry.
